Stefan Gagliano spent his childhood immersed in the restaurant business. Son of Domenico Gagliano, owner of Ardmore’s Positano Ristorante, Stefan grew up learning what it takes to create and maintain a successful restaurant. In August 2014 Stefan put this knowledge to use when he returned to his roots and opened Local Wine & Kitchen – just a few doors down from the restaurant where he spent his childhood.

Stefan’s new venture was embraced with rave reviews, quickly developing a reputation for delicious, seasonally driven cuisine.  The menu features mouth-watering appetizers including House Made Gnocchi and delectable entrees like Coffee Braised Rabbit Pappardelle. While their dinner menu alone is enough to excite, they also offer an assortment of fine cured meats and cheeses. Local also boasts an expansive wine list.

Local’s sophisticated yet rustic decor does not fall in the shadows of their impressive menu. The restaurant is adorned with a beautiful stained glass window that creates a warm ambiance for customers. Local even has a charcuterie bar, made of an elegant dark wood, stretching throughout the entirety of the front room.

Another key ingredient to Local’s charm is the exceptional staff. They are a small group, with only 10 people running and operating the restaurant, but the devotion of this team is apparent. “We are extremely dedicated and bring a personal touch to everything we do,” Stefan says.

“It’s home,” said Stefan of Ardmore.  “There is a strong sense of community in Ardmore and I get to see familiar faces everyday. I love building relationships with those who live in the town and others who are visiting for the first time.”  When he’s not spending nights at Local, a typical Ardmore day for Stefan could entail watching a show at the Ardmore Music Hall or enjoying the quiet mornings and going to the farmers market. In addition to the overall sense of community that Ardmore has, Stefan also enjoys the commonality found within his fellow business owners. “All the business owners are very dedicated to making Ardmore a destination. It’s great to see how much the community cares about the town and I’m glad to be a part of that.”
